Publish a decision on the Park Home Sales Commission in 2026

We call on the Government to publish a final decision in 2026 on the future of the 10% sales commission charged to park home residents.

The government's response

The government recognise that there are longstanding concerns about the requirement to pay site owners a commission upon sale of a park home. In 2021, the previous government funded research from the University of Liverpool and Sheffield Hallam University to assess what impact there might be on both residents and site owners if there was a change to the commission rate. The final report, which can be found on gov.uk here, was published in June 2022 and made four recommendations, including that more work was required to explore and clarify the rationale for the commission. In March 2026, this government published a 12-week Call for Evidence, which can be found on gov.uk here, regarding the rationale for the commission paid when a park home is sold. This information will help the government to make an evidence-based decision about the future of the commission payment. The Call for Evidence closed on 29 May. We are currently analysing the feedback received and will publish our response in due course.
