Affordable bus fares for everyone under 25

A single bus fare across this region now costs more than an hour of the youth minimum wage. Apprentices are turning down placements because they cannot afford to get there. We are asking the Combined Authority to introduce a capped daily fare for everyone under 25, funded from existing transport reserves, and to report on uptake after twelve months. Cheaper buses mean more work, more college places and fewer cars.
