Petition text
Every week another family tells the same story: a near miss on the walk to school. Thousands of primary schools in the UK still sit on roads with no controlled crossing, no school-time speed limit and no crossing patrol. We are asking the Department for Transport to fund a national audit of school approach roads and to guarantee at least one controlled crossing within 100 metres of every primary school gate. This is a small, measurable, fundable change, and it will keep children alive.
Updates

The council has agreed to survey four school approach roads this term. Keep sharing - the national audit is the real goal.
